Are you pregnant?

Did you know acupuncture can support you during your labor and delivery?

Adam participated in a four-day clinical intensive focused on acupuncture and birth support during labor and delivery. This hospital intensive took place at NYU’s Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, and was led by Claudia Citkovitz, the leading expert for acupuncture during labor and delivery.

During the intensive, we collaborated with the medical and nursing staff of the labor and delivery ward, provided acupuncture and acupressure to women during labor, trained family members in certain non-invasive techniques to support the women in labor, and provided postpartum acupuncture and support to the women we assisted. We also were able to observe pharmaceutical induction, augmentation of labor, and epidural analgesia administration. The acupuncture team had the opportunity to observe and support both vaginal and Cesarean (C-section) births. This training was the culmination of ongoing study in the field of labor and delivery.

Acupuncture and other techniques during pre-labor and labor can be very effective in lowering pain, easing the transition from pregnancy to labor to birth, and providing a stable and grounding presence prior to labor and in the delivery room. Postpartum support for both vaginal and Cesarean (C-section) births can help to reduce pain, speed recovery, and increase the production of breast milk.

Uptown Acupuncture is excited to announce that we are offering two packages for labor and delivery support. Email the office to inquire about the details of each these packages.
